Xterra England 2014 to continue as planned?

Event may still go ahead on Vachery Estate this summer

Following last week’s shock news that Xterra England organisers Brave Events planned to cease trading immediately, 220 Triathlon has received word that this year’s Xterra England event may still go ahead.

Dave Nicholas, president of Hawaii-based events company Team Unlimited, which runs the Xterra international race series, told us that he has tentative approval from Vachery Estate to run the event on the original dates of 23-24 August, using a different organiser.

“This is a temporary setback at the worst,” he said. “We had nearly 300 entries already so clearly Xterra is in demand.” As of Monday morning (10 February) the event website is still live, although registrations are currently closed.

Dave Nicholas told us that more news is expected later this week – watch this space closely…
