We’ve just received race details about the University of Wales, Newport 9th ISCA Duathlon, this year to be held on 18 April. Here’s what the organisers has to say…



The event is based at the Caerleon site of the University of Wales, Newport and is ideal for beginners and intermediate competitors (Min age 18 on the day). Athletes are asked to complete a 4km hilly road run near the campus. They then complete an 18km undulating road ride to Llangybi on their bicycle. Finally they complete a 2nd Lap of the run route.

The race remains equally attractive to the beginner/intermediate triathlete with the emphasis still remaining on taking part. Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd & 3rd senior male and female athletes, 1st, 2nd & 3rd veteran male and female athletes and 1st & 2nd super veteran male and female athletes. There is also one £100 prize for a new course record, gift vouchers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female competitors overall, as well as a ‘goodie bag’ and event souvenir for all who compete on the day.
