Santas, make a splash – and help save lives

A sea of Santas will take to the water at Cramond on Sunday 28 November to raise vital funds for British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland

A sea of Santas will take to the water at Cramond on Sunday 28 November to raise vital funds for British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland.

The nation’s heart charity needs people of all ages to sign up for this sponsored event, which is just for fun!

BHF Scotland’s Events and Marketing Officer Jenny Smith explains: “This is a jolly, family event for all ages and abilities. We’ll give all adults a Santa suit, and we’d love under-16s to come in their own fancy dress – there will be prizes!

“You can literally just dook yourself in the water for a few seconds or, if you’re a swimmer, you can do a few strokes.

“We just ho ho hope everyone will have lots of fun and by getting active in Edinburgh this winter you really will help to save lives.”

Thousands of men, women and children in Scotland are affected by heart disease every year, and BHF Scotland holds events like the Santa Dook to raise vital funds for its pioneering research, support and care for people living with heart disease, campaigning and vital information to help keep hearts beating.

Entry to the event costs £10, which helps towards the cost of running the event safely, and participants are also asked to raise sponsorship to help BHF Scotland continue its life-saving and life-changing work.
