Poll results: what distance will your A-race be in 2014?

'Certainly not double-and-up', says nearly everyone

We asked and you answered – over half our readers will be focussing on an Olympic or middle distance triathlon this season, with just 1% planning to tackle a double-and-up event.

Olympic distance seems to be the most popular, with 28% of our readers prioritising a 1.5km/40km/10km race this season.

Middle distance or 70.3 races (1.9km/90km/21.1km) are the next most popular, with 24% of readers ticking this box on our poll.

More of our readers are preparing for a long distance triathlon (3.8km/180km/42.2km) than a sprint distance (750m/20km/5km) – 22% compared to 19%.

The lowest number of responses were for super-sprint and double-and-up events, with 5% focussing on 750m/20km/5km races, and a small but hardy 1% girding themselves for a double-Iron.

Good luck to everyone this race season, and don’t forget to check our Training section regularly for advice!
