New open-water venue opens its gates to triathletes

Run and bike trails, and a tri shop, another hit for triathletes

Redricks Lakes is a new fully licensed open-water swimming venue. Based in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, the picturesque venue is quickly and easily accessible from central London and boasts an 850 metre swim circuit, a 2,500 metre cross country running track along the River Stort and a 2.5km mountain bike trail.

“It’s an exciting time for us here at Redricks Lakes” explained Mitchell Edwards, Director of Redricks Lakes. “The facility has already been used regularly by local groups, the British Junior Elite Triathlon Team, as well as nine-time British Elite Champion, Richard Allen. We are now in a position to welcome more triathletes, of all levels, to train and compete here so hope to see some new faces”.

“Redricks Lakes is a fantastic open water facility in the South East”, added Dawn Vaughan, European Team Manager for Great Britain.

Redricks Lakes has toilet facilities, hot showers, a club house, a triathlon shop and wetsuit hire – which is free for first time users. It is currently open to triathletes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 6.30- 7.30, Saturdays 8-10am and Sundays 9-11am.
