There was mud galore at the first instalment of the Wellingborough Dirt Run series last weekend, with recent rains creating some very boggy sections for over 500 athletes.

The event took place on 19 January at the Jurassic Irchester Country Park in Northamptonshire, with two more instalments planned for next month (2 February and 16 February), when athletes can return and try to beat their previous times.

In this first instalment, the men’s 5km race was won by Tom Hales in 19:29mins, while Roz Giles won the women’s race in 23:31mins. Matthew Green won the 10km men’s race emphatically in a time of 36:03mins, and Clare Mudd won the women’s race in 43:55mins.

Finally, Andrew Siggers won the men’s 15km race with a time of 51:00mins, and Rachel Cave won the women’s race in 58:27mins.

Full provisional results are now available on the Just Racing UK website here.
