Macmillan and Scope announced as official London Tri charities

Virgin Active London Triathlon announces Gold Charities

The Virgin Active London Triathlon, the biggest triathlon in the world, is delighted to announce charities Scope and Macmillan Cancer Support as Official Gold Charities for the 2013 event, which is set to attract over 13,000 participants. The event is owned by IMG Challenger World, the mass participation sport division of IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company.

While the general entry ballot is now closed, the opportunity to participate in the 2013 Virgin Active London Triathlon is still available via gold charities, Macmillan and Scope. Participants can secure a pledge place at the Virgin Active London Triathlon website and help raise money for these fantastic causes. In addition to the intrinsic reward of supporting such worthy charities, participants will also benefit from training guides and advice, post race refreshments and a loud fan base cheering them on!

Each year the event receives bids from charities hoping to be Gold Charities associated with the Virgin Active London Triathlon, and this year Scope and Macmillan both submitted extremely compelling cases.

The Virgin Active London Triathlon is excited to create a platform on which both charities can raise awareness and funds for their incredible causes; helping Scope achieve their vision of a world where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else and support Macmillan in improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
