Celtman to hit BBC2 next week
Highlights of this year’s gruelling point-to-point triathlon in the Scottish Highlands to air on the Beeb’s ‘Adventure Show’
Good news Scottish tri fans – highlights of this year’s Celtman will be hitting your TV screens on Wednesday 8th October at 7pm.
Widely seen as one of the hardest long-distance triathlons going, the Celtman is a point-to-point race based in the spectacular Torridon mountains and starts with a chilly 3.8km sea loch swim, followed by a 202km bike and 40km run.
The highlights will form part of BBC2 Scotland’s ‘Adventure Show’; outside of Scotland, the programme will be available on Sky (channel 990) and the BBC iPlayer.
The men’s race was won this year by Sweden’s Johan Hasselmark, who smashed the previous course record by 28mins to finish in 11:41:30, while local athlete Marie Meldrum crossed the line 33mins ahead of her nearest rival in 14:22:36.
The ballot for next year’s race will open on 29th October for two weeks, and is expected to be heavily oversubscribed again: http://www.entrycentral.com/celtman
