Brutal course confirmed

Head to North Wales for some brutal joy this September

The Brutal Double Iron Triathlon is a new race for the hardcore tri fraternity, taking place over the weekend of 17-18 September 2011 in Llanberis, North Wales.

The Welsh water might be freezing but the 4.8-mile swim is set in stunning surroundings, which will help ease the pain. The 224-mile bike course might consist of laps, but with changing views, wicked hairpin bends, eyewatering climbs and heartstopping descents, monotony will not be an issue.

And finally, it’s time to come full circle and run around the lake where you began your Brutal challenge.

Power up a steep hilly section through rugged slate trails, navigate over a stream (watch out for the hole on the bridge!) and push back down winding paths, always keeping the water by your side. Once you have completed the lake laps, you will then start the most challenging part of your race… the ascent up Mount Snowdon! Even the most hardcore endurance athletes will be pushed to their limits and beyond. Do you have what it takes to get to the top? And once there, will your legs have the strength to get you back down again to claim your Brutal medal?

The hardest triathlon in the UK, the Brutal is not for the faint hearted. Push yourself to the limits and gain an unforgettable experience at the same time.
