Brits flock to Ironman 70.3 Mallorca

Sun, sand and sweat at world's largest IM race

UK athletes are the best-represented nationality at the Ironman 70.3 Mallorca race happening next May, according to the organisers.

The sell-out race is now the world’s largest Ironman, with 3,800 athletes committed to covering the 1.9km swim/90km bike/21km run required on 11 May.

Of this total, over 1,000 entrants are Brits – more than double the number of German (465) and Spanish (363) athletes.

Kevin Stewart, Managing Director of Ironman UK & Ireland, said: “It’s fantastic to see a continual rise in UK athletes wanting to race on both home soil and abroad.”

Ironman revealed yesterday that a European city will be hosting the 70.3 World Champs in 2015 – more info here.
