Hotly anticipated as one of the most exciting additions to next year’s racing calendar, the bike course for Ironman 70.3 Staffs has been revealed by the organisers, who say that it will feature 627m of ascent – significantly less than Wimbleball (1,554m).
The 90km single-circuit bike route will start on 14 June 2015 at Chasewater Country Park where the swim is being held, and pass local villages and landmarks including Kings Bromley, Draycott in the Clay, Blithfield Reservoir, Rugeley and Cannock Chase. The bike course will finish at Shugborough Hall Estate where the run and finish will take place.
Online entries for the event will open here at 1pm on 26 August for athletes who have pre-registered their interest in the event, then general entries will open at 1pm the following day when any remaining places will be made available.
