Age-group qualifying for Auckland begins at Dambuster

Auckland ITU World slots going at Dambuster this weekend

The Dambuster Triathlon takes place this Sunday 16 June at Rutland Water in Leicestershire, representing the first opportunity for standard distance age-group triathletes to book their place in the GE Great Britain Age-Group Team for the 2012 Auckland ITU Triathlon World Championships in October.

Competitors aiming to qualify at Dambuster Triathlon will complete a straight one-lap 1,500m swim before a slightly long 42km bike around the spectacular Rutland scenery, including the infamous Rutland Ripple. The 10km plus run navigates around the lake and across the dam.

The Dambuster Triathlon is the first of three qualifiers for the 2012 Auckland ITU Triathlon World Championships, with the second opportunity at the British Standard Distance Triathlon Championships at the Shropshire Triathlon on 24 June. The final chance is at the Deva Triathlon on 1 July.

If you intend to qualify at the Dambuster Triathlon event, you must register your intent on the British Triathlon website (www.britishtriathlon.org) by 5pm Friday 15 June 2012.

The event is being organised by Pacesetter Events, with more information available on www.pacesetterevents.com.
