2014 Slateman close to selling out

Organisers expecting the full-distance race to be full by Christmas

1,000 competitors have already signed up for the 2014 Slateman Triathlon, with organisers expecting the full-distance race to sell out by Christmas.

Held in Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon, the Slateman has established itself as one of the UK’s most challenging triathlons.

The 2013 event, which is organised by Always Aim High Events, was a sell-out success and the 2014 event has been expanded. The Slateman will now be spread over two days – the Sprint race and children’s events will take on Saturday 17th May and the full distance will be held on Sunday 18th May – making it a full weekend of triathlon action!

Also new for 2014 are increased entry limits – the full distance race now has a maximum capacity of 1,200 racers while the sprint distance can accommodate 500 competitors.

The Slateman Triathlon is the first race of three in the Always Aim High Tri Series. The Slateman is followed by the Sandman Triathlon in September and the Snowman Triathlon in October. Entries go on general sale on Monday 2 December.
