Review: Inov-8 Tri-X-Treme 225 women’s run shoes
Some nice features, but pricey and only for those who want a natural feel
A more stripped-back version of the Tri-X-Treme 275 we reviewed in issue 300 of the magazine, these are directly targeting the triathlon market.
Whereas the 275 has a 6mm drop, this has just 3mm and purports to be 50g lighter (our UK6 coming in at 222g). Fit was good, with plenty of room in the toebox, and the tri-specific features such as the wide opening and toggle laces are great, making for an easy transition.
Whether you enjoy running in these will depend a lot on how you feel about minimal shoes. Personally, we’d opt for the extra cushioning offered by the 275s, but if you like being closer to the ground, give these a try.
