Honor GS Pro smart multisport watch review
Is this featured-packed smart watch from Honor set to storm multisport? Helen Webster puts it to the test
The latest releasee from tech brand Honor, this rugged smart watch gives a lot of watch with a lot of features for the RRP (see online for bundles and offers), making it an interesting proposition for multisporters.
This release is aimed at adventurers and one of the key USPs is the quoted 100 day battery life in normal mode, 25 days in ‘typical’ usage or 48 hours in continuous GPS mode – plus it charges in just two hours – claims it certainly lived up to in our extended test period. The watch has 100 workout modes plus all the features we’ve come to expect from top-end offerings, including sleep, stress, heart rate and a pulse oximeter.
So how did the GS Pro perform in testing? First up,we really liked the big, clear screen and superb graphics. It’s touch screen too, which we easily got used to, although we found it a little tricky to operate with frozen or wet hands. The watch was also too chunky for this slim-wristed female tester and we found the quick-release nylon strap a bit scratchy (although you can buy other options). We’d also like to see more screen options in workout modes as, although the split screen gives you loads of data, it could be hard to focus in on the metric you wanted while training.
The GPS proved accurate, the app easy to use and we loved the route back and navigation features for trail adventures. The weather content was also excellent. Beginners will enjoy the run training plans installed (it even talks as you train!), plus you can take and answer calls through the watch.
Verdict: Amazing battery life and packed with outdoorsy features. Huge watch though! 80%
