Huub Aphotic swim goggles – first look

Super-speedy photochomatic lenses – as any Greek speakers may have guessed – plus a “feather-like feel”

New from Huub come the Aphotic swim goggles, boasting special photochromatic dyes in the lenses that activate when exposed to UV rays, taking just 160secs to go from clear to dark.

With a name that means “no light” in Greek, the Aphotic goggles are designed to fit the face perfectly with a density of silicone and TPR matched to create a perfect fit.

They also reportedly boast a feather-like feel on “even the most interesting of facial profiles”, says Huub. That’ll be us, then.

Available in two colourways – black and red, or magenta (pink) – they cost £39.95 from huubdesign.com, and come with a protective clam shell case.
