Scott T2 Pro

Very occasionally we’re treated to a product that break the mould of traditional footwear. Even rarer is when that shoe is tri-specific.

This innovative model from Scott has a collapsible heal to save you valuable seconds in transition – it’s an excellent concept. This does away with the need for elastic laces and the sloppy fit sometimes associated with them. Slide your foot in, pull on the easy access straps and you’re on your way.

The fit is more like a traditional race shoe with a classic lace pattern, but with the added benefit of no tongue to get crumpled up and with a well-ventilated insole, it’s ideal for sock-free running. Plus the minimalist sole means that the shoe is very lightweight.

However, while this shoe still provides the necessary padding, the weight saving does come at a slight comfort cost. Most critically, this shoe offers knife-edge security and the generous fit may be unsuitable for those with narrower feet.

Nevertheless, a great shoe and a great step forward in tri technology.
