Brooks Axiom 3

This shoe offers a good mix of features. It has midfoot support for over-pronators and guides your foot nicely.

There’s cushioning throughout the shoe, and the heel and forefoot are well padded, yet the shoe remains quite responsive. It sits at the lighter end of the training shoe spectrum so it’s best for faster running.

The fit is slightly broad with a roomy toe-box, but the lacing does allow a good amount of adjustment to be made, which is only a bad thing if you have very narrow feet.

For broader feet it’s a clear plus point. You can find lighter lightweight shoes or more protective trainers on the market, but this one gives a good mix of characteristics.
