Inov-8 Race Ultra running socks

Plush, supportive and breathable, these are an impressive off-road package

Socks are far from being an unwanted Christmas gift from Aunty Iris when it comes to running off-road.

As your feet are often submerged in mud, sludge, water and worse, quick-drying properties are key, as are any ankle support, blister-preventing buffers and breathability virtues.

Thankfully the Race Ultra Mid Cuts (they also come in low and high cut) from Inov-8 tick all these boxes and more, throwing some compressive elements into the mix as well.

We tested these in some dicey post-Hurricane Bertha conditions, wearing brand new trainers, and they stayed blister-free, drying speedier than our usual Merino run socks when our feet were submerged, too.

If that £15 price tag seems high, that’s because they come in a two-pack, adding value for money to an impressive off-road package.
