Multipower Iso Drink
Reasonably priced, with an authentic and refreshing raspberry taste
Billed – as its name suggests – as an isotonic energy drink, Multipower’s Iso Drink contains a mixture of glucose-based carbohydrates (maltodextrin and dextrose) and fructose, formulated to provide a 2:1, glucose-to-fructose ratio.
Unusually for an energy drink, though, Isodrink also contains branched chain amino acids (to help reduce muscle breakdown during exercise), glutamine (to support immune function) L-carnitine (which is claimed to aid fat-burning) and a generous sprinkling of B vitamins plus vitamins C & E. It’s also a drink that’s free of artificial sweeteners.
In use, our taste panel approved of the light, refreshing and very authentic raspberry taste. It’s not overly sweet either – a big plus for those triathletes who tire of shelves stocked with sickly-sweet sports drinks.
Add in a very reasonable price (it works out at a perfectly reasonable 1.8 pence per gram of carbohydrate) and Multipower’s Iso drink becomes an attractive proposition indeed.
