Fast Forward Carbon Disc Clincher
The first clincher wheel on test, this one comes with an alloy braking surface. The upside of this is improved braking, especially in the wet; the downside is more weight – at 1,445g (1,195g for the tub equivalent) this is the heaviest on test.
Whether braking performance is that much of an issue on a disc, however, is open to debate – you’ll use them mainly on the flat where holding speed is priority.
It looks great and comes with a wheel bag, pads, QR skewer and decal stickers for the valve hole, offering good value for money.
Although posting marginally the slowest times on test, the difference between it and the £1,000-more-expensive DT Swiss disc isn’t massive. Does everything a disc wheel should.
