DT Swiss RRC 1300 Clincher

This is a lot of wonga for a wheel and to buy a matching front you’ll have to stump up another £900. Although clinchers have their advantages, the set-up will always be heavier and, although this disc only weighs 1,200g (joint lowest weight on test), the tub equivalent is 1,050g.

DT hubs are used by all top wheel builders, ride superbly and are 100% serviceable. Titanium skewer, rim tape and SwissStop carbon pads are all thrown in, along with a high-quality wheel bag.

The DT Swiss rides superbly with almost unsurpassed acceleration, and it holds rolling speed wonderfully. Flex is minimal with no brake rubbing, even when muscling up climbs, and although obviously stiff, the ride’s far from harsh.
