Shimano WT51

Shimano proudly claim that some of the world’s leading triathletes helped them design their WT51 shoe – and it shows.

This shoe boasts both funk and function: the super stiff yet light carbon-fibre sole offers good support to the foot and aids pedaling efficiency, while its sleek good looks mean anyone wearing them looks the part. (The smart green/silver colour scheme certainly makes it one of the more feminine-looking shoes on the market.)

Its reverse closure straps aid fast, hassle-free transitions, and the rubber-protected heel ensures the shoe can withstand almost anything you put it through. The insole is well-ventilated, allowing feet to breathe on even the warmest of race or training days, as well as to dry off quickly post-swim.

The insole is also lined with an anti-bacterial treatment that helps to reduce odours, particularly when worn barefoot in races. Additionally, the soft, seamless lining inside means chafing is unlikely to ever be a problem.
