Rapha Climber’s Bike Shoes – first look

Perforated synthetic leather, carbon-fibre soles and Team Sky colours – there’s a lot to like

As you might expect, the Climber’s shoes from high-end swanky bike gear gurus Rapha have been built to keep weight down to a minimum.

They’re constructed around an Easton EC90 SLXII carbon sole and a perforated synthetic upper with a mesh lining. All this combines to make the shoes weigh in at 215g each for a UK size 9.

They also come with a set of Giro SuperNatural Fit insoles that offer three customisable degrees of arch support.

The pictured set bears the Team Sky colours, but there’s also a black/pink and a white/grey version, both following the same design, if you need something different to match your kit. Price: £280 from www.rapha.cc.
