Northwave Tribute

We’ve been fans of Northwave’s mountain bike shoes for off-season training for a while and were looking forward to seeing if their latest tri-specific shoes would deliver too.

All the must-have features for a top-end shoe are present, inclusing out-to-in straps, oversized heel loops, soft and barefoot-friendly inners, rubber heels and toe bumpers, and plenty of ventilation and drainage.

A particularly neat touch is the extra Velcro on the main strap and outside of the shoe, which means when coming out of (and into) transition, you can have the strap open but still neatly secured and not flapping dangerously around your cranks and chain.

When out riding, the Tributes produced great power transfer thanks to thier fully carbon soles. They were also incredibly comfortable with no foot numbness, hotspots or rubbing on bare feet, making them an excellent choice for a fast transition.
