Exustar E-SR540

Looks aside, these seem to be a bit of a bargain. They aren’t the most glamorous cycling shoes but they’re light on your feet, have a wide range of cleat compatibility and are extremely comfortable even during long rides.

There was no irritation or potential blistering at any location, which is surprising for economy shoes. The shoes also feel efficient during pedalling, and with each stroke the transfer of power was very effective.

We found no problems with hill climbing or sprinting as the lightweight feel and efficient transfer of power made efforts much easier, with the perception that less energy was being expelled.

Clearly there are other shoes that you’ll be less likely to hide under an overshoe, but that’s what most of us will be doing over the winter months anyway, so these are bang on the bucks.
