Sugoi Helium

The Sugoi Helium is a very light jackets, weighing in at just 90g. There’s some nice reflective detailing, which when combined with the “super nova yellow” of our test sample has to make it one of the safest jackets to be out in.

The jacket’s inherent light weight makes it very comfortable to wear and even easier to stuff into your back pocket when not required.

The material offers good wind proofing but won’t offer much protection from the rain. The trade-off here is, of course, good breathability. And there are a number of vent holes under the arms to help remove some excess heat.

The fit on the bike was a little disappointing with a very square cut, resulting in a gathering of fabric behind the shoulders and too much material around the body.

The outcome is a great deal of flapping, causing drag and a lot of noise! The cut does, however, make it more suitable for doubling up as a run jacket.
