Mavic Inferno Extreme

A well-designed glove that's perfect for cold winter rides

Mavic Inferno Extreme

The Inferno Extremes are Mavic’s deep-winter gloves for riding in temperatures between -15°and 8°C, but we reckon 8°C would be too warm given how well they keep your hands insulated.

The Thinsulate inner is wonderfully soft and comfortable, but there’s very little purpose-built padding on the palms. Saying that, we were never uncomfortable, and they do have Mavic’s scuff guard, adding grip and durability. One big bonus is their lack of bulk; you neither feel too detached from the ride nor struggle to shift gear.

Plus, the thumb, index and middle fingers have a decent anti-slip coating on them to provide extra grip on the controls. They’re slightly more versatile than Pearl Izumi’s offering and you could happily ride with these as your do-it-all winter gloves.
