Bontrager Ion 700 USB bike headlight – first look

Five different light settings including an astonishingly bright high beam

Be safe, be seen – and also see superbly well – with this sleek and rather handsome rechargeable bike light from the Trek-owned Bontrager stable.

Retailing for £89.99, it offers five different settings – three constant beams, strobe and the pulsing ’50 Flash’.

While the astonishingly bright high beam offers less than two hours before you need to reach for the recharging plug, the strobe can go for around 45 hours on a single charge (a three-stage indicator keeps you aware of the battery life).

The Ion 700 comes with both USB cable and rubberised handlebar mount, and can also slide onto Bontrager’s adjustable computer mount.

Price: £89 from www.bontrager.com.
