Pro Scio W4.1
The Pro range is basically Shimano’s set of accessories, and this computer was a joy to use. The head-unit twist locks into a thin, but perfectly secure stem- or bar-mount cradle that’ll flatten to fit onto wing bars. HR belt is a bit broad, stiff and basic, but it registered reliably from the first lick of spit.
The real joy with this computer is that it pretty much sets itself. Heart rate, speedo and altimeter all came alive as soon as we’d licked, clicked and zipped the various bits into place. The big display is very easy to read even without a backlight, and we picked up the navigation flow without even opening the thick instruction book.
As for negative points, you can only set one HR zone, the ‘PWr’ function is just a guess and post-ride feedback is limited. But for simplicity, it’s great.
