Knog Nerd 12

Our tester let out a sigh of relief as he unpacked the Knog. Without a zip tie or rubber band in sight, installation is a genuine fiddle-free thirty-second job. Combine this with the two-bike memory and the Knog is perfect for dual-bike use. This tester happily swapped it back and forwards from his road to MTB.

With both the sensor and head unit encased in their distinctive silicon rubber casing, with hook-around attachment allowing stem and bar mounting, the downside is bulkiness. But this is massively outweighed by robustness and ease of set-up.

Riding with the Knog was equally stress free with no interference, and you just pressed the whole head unit to scroll through functions – easy even with full winter gloves on. Just over £60 may seem a lot for a 12-function computer without cadence, but if you want 100% simplicity, reliability and versatility, the Knog is for you.
