Easton issues voluntary EA 30 Stems recall
2007, 2008 and 2009 EA 30 stems affected
Easton has identified a potential safety issue affecting the four bolt Easton EA 30 stem. The firm said that the stem could crack and eventually break during use, which has led it to issue a voluntary recall of all the 2007, 2008 and 2009 stems affected.
The stems in question have been sold as individually packaged pieces and equipped on bicycle brands. Easton is asking for dealers’ cooperation in identifying and recalling the product.
In a company statement Easton said: “Although the stem in question has passed all of the industry tests, this particular issue was not uncovered during those tests.
As a result of these findings and Easton’s commitment to produce the safest product possible, we are recalling the affected stems and replacing them with new stems which are subject to even more stringent quality controls.”
