One key development for the more expensive Vantage V (£439) is a new running power metric. This is the first time a running metric has been included in a watch, and Polar’s Running Power works by uniting several running metrics into one, easy-to-understand number that represents the power that the runner produces when running.
The Polar Vantage V also comes equipped with exclusive smart coaching features such as Training Load Pro and Recovery Pro, The waterproof GPS-enabled watch features an always-on-colour touch screen display, offering accurate data across more than 130 sports profiles and has a battery life of up to 40 hours of training.
The cheaper Vantage M (£249) may not have the running metric but it does include new Precision Prime wrist-based heart rate sensor technology, Training Load Pro, as well as the ability to customise 130 sports.
Both watches will be available from the end of October and watch out for reviews in 220
