Hydrapak Bantam 1.5L
If you want to be self-sufficient on your long runs, but don’t fancy carrying a rucksack, then a bumbag including a water reservoir could be the best option. But, annoyingly, many hydration packs bounce and slosh around and, once you’ve filled the bladder, leave little room for kit. Fortunately, the Hydrapak Bantam was a pleasant surprise.
It’s comfy to wear and remained stable throughout exercise with zero sloshing; we could fit in a windproof top, a phone and some emergency snacks; the bite-valve worked well, even if the tube intermittently knocked our hands on the run; and a clever pushdown lock ensured no irritating leaks.
An additional zipped front pocket was ideal for keys and valuables, and the mesh pockets on the wings were great for on-the-go access to energy gels and nutrition bars. Finally, the bladder was reversible, making for easy cleaning and drying.
