Hoy Vulpine bike clothing range – first look
Details and shots of Sir Chris Hoy and Vulpine’s new bike gear range

Hoy Vulpine is a coming together of Olympic track superstar Sir Chris Hoy and bike clothing brand Vulpine. Between them, they have created comfortable, stylish kit at affordable prices.
There’s a full men and women’s range aimed at both performance and commuter cycling, due to hit all Evans Cycles stores in March.
Sir Chris Hoy said: “We hope we’ve designed cycling apparel cyclists want to wear, not feel they have to. The idea is that each piece of clothing is something you look forward to wearing, that does the job and that you feel good in.”
Vulpine’s Nick Hussey added: “Cycling clothing is the butt of a lot of jokes. Why not be proud of how you look, and feel good wearing something? Feeling and looking good brings more people into cycling.”
Performance range
Hoy Vulpine’s performance range is named after landmarks and climbs in Mallorca, one of Sir Chris’s favourite training playgrounds. All items are available in men’s and women’s cuts.
Valldemosa Race jersey
Understated design and minimal logos appear to form the brief across the Hoy Vulpine range and this race-cut jersey certainly follows that. The grey jersey has a full-length zip that’s colour-matched to a small chest logo that’s seen in bigger form on the middle of three rear pockets. It’s an unassuming look, but the technical fabric has coffee fibres within it that are designed to help absorb odours, prevent stains and allow quick drying.
Price: £79.99
El Toro bib shorts
The bibs are even less shouty than the jersey with simple black on black logos. There’s a quality CyTech chamois pad, while the upper is mainly mesh, including a fully-covered back section rather than regular straps. The women’s version also features a full vest upper with zip.
Price: £79.99
Extras
The performance range also includes sprint socks and a trackside cap, both £11.99
Casual range
Akita City jersey
This relaxed jersey is described as a “simple stylish cycling jersey for commutes, meetings and popping down the pub”. The casual slim fit jersey features odour and moisture management (presumably for those same trips to the pub). The Akita jersey is available in black, grey and light blue colourways.
Price: £54.99
Saitama Trail shorts
These trail shorts aren’t traditional baggies but the soft ripstop four-way stretch fabric should be tough enough for rougher riding. The shorts feature Vulpine’s diamond gusset so there’s no sitting on awkward seams. “Ideal for commuting, summer holidays and chucking through brambles on the mountain bike!” says Hoy Vulpine.
Price: £54.99
Track Stripes Technical T-shirt
The Track Stripes Technical tee has a treatment for quick wicking and odour and stain prevention. The T-shirt bears the coloured stripes that mark the boards of all velodromes.
Price: £38.99
Extras
The casual range also features Niigata and Keirin T-shirts (both £26.99) as well as stripe socks (£11.99).
