Walker Brothers Fleet 56mm clinchers – first look

Built in Tyneside by two top time triallists with seven national titles between them

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, the Walker brothers are Brian and Harry Walker, who were two of the UK’s top time triallists in the ’90s and won seven national titles between them.

Both were renowned for their innovation and now they’ve turned that experience and focus to wheelbuilding (their disc wheel scored a whopping 92% recently).

These, their 56mm Fleet clinchers, combine 56mm deep rims with a 27.2mm width at the brake track to tip the scales at a claimed 1,665g.

Spokes are Sapim CX Ray arranged as 20 radial on the front and 24 crossed on the rear. Price: £835 from www.walker-brothers.co.uk.
