PowerBar Recovery Regeneration review
This product from PowerBar tastes better than most but doesn’t pack as much ‘power’ as the name suggests, weighing in at the lower end of the spectrum with 199kcal, 35.9g carbohydrates and 12.6g of protein per serving. There’s also zero sodium content, with just 150mg of potassium, so make sure you replenish these from other sources.
The directions offer a useful suggestion to mix the powder with milk, which naturally contains sodium, and will also boost protein and carb levels. If you’re not already eating a balanced diet there’s vitamins B1, B2, B12, C and E, while there’s also some L-Glutamine to potentially assist immune function, though evidence for this isn’t conclusive.
The ‘Trisource’ protein claims to assist ‘rebuild of fatigued muscles’, but no scientific data is given to back this up.
