Specialized BG Toupe
Specialized’s BG (Body Geometry) system is aimed at optimising the fit and biomechanics of a rider by acknowledging that a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t always work. As a result, the minimalist BG Toupe saddle is available in three widths: 130mm, 143mm and 155mm (the dealer will measure your hips to see which is best for you).
Whichever size you choose, they all come in at around 150g. So if weight is a priority this seat should definitely be on your list, as it’s one of the lightest around. Comfort-wise it proves that looks can be deceiving and shows that less can be more. The central cutaway takes pressure off your most sensitive areas while offering plenty of support where it’s needed.
The nose is narrow and fairly hard, though, making it more suitable as a road-racing saddle than for out-and-out time trialling.
