Ironman 70.3 UK – in pics
Local boy Brennan Townshend and former GB hockey player Natalie Seymour win this year’s Wimbleball
The photos are in for this year’s Ironman 70.3 UK – aka Wimbleball – where British athletes Brennan Townshend and Natalie Seymour took the male and female wins.
Local boy Townshend (M18-24) broke the tape in 4:42:30, after posting a 1:18:47 bike split. Richard Shephard took silver, crossing the line just 2mins later, and Nick Saunders took bronze.
Well done @bren_townshend you legend – 1:18 half marathon off the bike to win it! You’ve earned that!

In the women’s race, former GB hockey player-turned-triathlete Natalie Seymour (F25-29) turned in a fine performance to cross the line in 5:16:13, finishing ahead of Jennifer Stewart and Emma Lamont.
Thank you @IRONMANUK703 for the best day! The amazing support from spectators and volunteers makes a tough course worth it! #stillbuzzing
