Need some late summer sun? The Martinhal Triathlon in Portugal could be just the ticket...

Martinhal Triathlon

Yep, the weather’s turned gloomy and we’ve all started digging out those winter training outfits and plotting six months of duathlons and pool sessions. If you’re thinking of extending your season a little longer though and want to make the most of all that hard training you’ve got under your belt, then the Martinhal Triathlon could be just the thing.

Organised by Algarve Triathlon, the Sprint and Olympic distance races will be held on 26th October in the five-star Martinhal Beach Resort and Hotel located on the most southwesterly tip of Portugal, which is surrounded by the spectacular Costa Vicentina natural park, overlooking the Martinhal beach where the 750m and 1500m swim will take place.

The 20km and 40km cycle will take you out to Cape St Vincent – the most southwesterly point of Europe – and taking in some of Sagres’ historic landmarks along the way. Heading back into Martinhal, the 5km and 10km run will meander through the paths of the resort and finish back where it all began near the Martinhal beach.

The five-star Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel will be throwing a huge after-party with great food and entertainment, all included in the race entry price.
