Catherine Jameson and Alison Rowatt triumph in annual triathlon battle between France and England, while Fraser Cartmell claims silver for the men
More than 500 British triathletes crossed the Channel for last weekend’s Chateau de Chantilly Triathlon in the Picarde region of France, including recently-crowned British Middle Distance champion Fraser Cartmell.
Cyril Viennot led the French team out, ably assisted by Victor Debil-Caux, Tony Baheux and Julie Nivoux. Racing for Team GB, Cartmell was accompanied by Mark Threlfall, David Bishop and Catherine Jameson.
After a fierce struggle Cyril Viennot won first place in the Olympic distance race with a time of 1:58:30, leaving Team GB’s Fraser Cartmell to take silver.
