Felt tri bike recall ‘doesn’t affect UK customers’, say distributors

Reassurance given by Saddleback that no tri bikes sold at retail in the UK are affected

Following last week’s news that Felt has recalled over 3,000 tri bikes across five different models, their UK distributors Saddleback have told 220 Triathlon that it doesn’t affect any bikes sold at retail in the UK.

Saddleback emailed us the following statement earlier today: “We have been advised that it doesn’t effect [sic] any UK customers. Unless they purchased their bike from outside the UK.” Any Felt owners who remain concerned should contact their local dealer for further advice.

The recall was issued at the end of last week after Felt received reports of steer tubes breaking in a small number of cases, and affects 2008 Felt S22 and S32 tri bikes, along with 2010 S32, B12, B14 and B16 models. In total around 3,300 bikes in the US are affected by the recall, plus about 190 in Canada.
