ITU names new Director General
Antonio Arimany picked for top managerial post
The International Triathlon Union has appointed Antonio Fernandez Arimany as its new Director General, making him operational leader from the beginning of next month.
Arimany served as the ITU Legal, Finance and Administrative Director since 2010, and will now report directly to ITU President Marisol Casado.
Casado said: “Antonio’s extensive experience in the Olympic movement combined with his knowledge of triathlon, as well as expertise in finance and law, made him an excellent choice for the position.”
The original job ad (here) indicates that Arimany will be tasked with delivering on the ITU’s four-year strategic plan, and will preside over the day-to-day running of the organisation.
