Focus unveils tri-specific Izalco Chrono Max

New superlight tri bike to arrive in 2014

German bike brand Focus has revealed the new Izalco Chrono Max TT bike, adding some serious firepower to their 2014 range.

Focus have taken technology from their incredibly impressive Izalco road bike and used it to lose more weight from their new aero-optimised frameset.

The frame now weighs in at 1,390g, with the deep bladed fork at 430g, laying the basis for a very light tri bike indeed.

Although it’s been designed for use on the road – Ag2r will be riding the bike next season – Focus have also designed a version for triathletes with the front end raised by 30mm for a less aggressive position.

Prices for the Izalco Chrono Max start at £2,499, built with Shimano 105, and go all the way up to £7,799 for the Ag2r team edition, which comes with Campagnolo Record EPS.
