We take a look at the 12th incarnation of Brooks' bestseller
Any product that reaches its 12th incarnation must have something going for it, but first impressions aren’t great.
The look is a touch Heath Robinson for our liking, specifically the heel counter that’s been moved from the inner to the outer. It’s comfortable enough, but not exactly up our aesthetic alley.
Its drop measures around the 12mm mark, not surprising as Brooks has packed a dozen technologies into the heaviest shoe on test (382g), including their trademark Caterpillar Crash Pad, also seen in the Glycerin.
Yes, it’s a daft name but it purports to segment the midsole for a good heel-to-toe transition (which will probably be your run gait if wearing these).
And it seems to work because the ride is far plusher than looks and weight might otherwise have you believe.
If you’re a heavier athlete looking for impressive cushioning and a stable shoe, this fits the bill.
