Time RXS Carbon

The ‘other’ French pedal and carbon bike specialist – the Time RXS pedal family – is every bit the top-end match for Look’s line-up.

This steel axle, carbon-composite body version is the mid-price option, but it’s only 40g heavier (at 316g) than the £203.49 Titan Ulteam version.

The mix of plastic nose and metal engagement block gives a distinctive mix of soft-sprung rotational float, but a really positive click-in-and-out at the rear. The cleat and skeletal ‘drooped’ body also wrap right round below the axle, for a super low, stable feel.

They have variable spring tension and Q factor, depending which cleat you run on which side. The cleats themselves are also among the most stable to walk in and longest lasting.

In short, a great performer for the price if you like the soft feel, although the standard RXS is even better value at £76.99.
