Active Life Activate

Activate (90g) is a soy bean oil with noticeable additions of peppermint, menthol, lemon rosemary and lemongrass. It’s rather more lotion-like and doesn’t feel quite as luxurious when you’re applying it as some warm-up oils can.

But the plus side is that this makes it easier to identify and isolate problem areas, as they can grip the skin and underlying structures more easily.

The main weakness of this particular product is the dispenser, or rather tub. The open tub means you actually have to put your fingers into the lotion to get any out, so make sure your hands are really clean before you use it, and try to avoid applying it in sandy environments.

Overall, we’d recommend this lotion for someone who knows what they’re doing, such as a personal physio. For self-massage, you’re probably better off sticking with one of the oils.
