The 2013 edition of the Celtman Extreme Scottish triathlon is now open for entries...
The Celtman: Extreme Scottish Triathlon is now open for entries for the 2013 version.
It’s an iron-distance race inspired by Norway’s iconic Norseman, comprising a 3.8km sea loch swim, 202km road bike (with 2000m of climbing) and a 40km run which is 75% off-road, incorporates 2000m of climbing and takes in two Scottish mountain tops.
The 2012 race was won by Alex Glasgow of Scotland, and former Norseman winner Susanne Buckanlei of Germany.
The entry process for the race is similar to last year, and similar to the Norseman race. There is an entry application window that is open from now until 16th November. All applications within the window will be considered equally. If we get more than 175 applications, we will have a ballot for entry slots.
The inaugural CELTMAN! race in June 2012 was hugely successful – a sell out at the first time of asking, and the competitor feedback has been overwhelming. The field was truly international, and included athletes from USA, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, as well as many from Scotland and the rest of the UK.
