North Face Thresher

North Face products are generally stylish and desirable, and the Thresher is no exception. The mesh panels and rip-stop material make it very lightweight and the waist/chest straps ensure a snug fit, virtually eliminating movement.

The real winner on this product, though, is the use of a Nalgene pipe and bite valve system that employs a strong magnet to attach it to the chest strap. This holds it securely for biking and running, and makes it simple to tidy the tube away with one hand.

One vertical pocket on the back only holds a small volume of kit, though, and is unhelpfully located under the bungee cord. The lack of small pockets for bars and gels is the main complaint, but from a hydration point of view it all works superbly.

Materials and construction are very good, and so too are the aesthetics.
