Orca One Piece
First impressions? Buy the size up. The 10 made us feel like we were slowing being squeezed in a vice, rendering us almost hunchback in the water. Once in the 12… well it was still too tight, most noticeably across the shoulders.
Like the Aqua Sphere the Orca has two layers on the front panel, which, we’ve come to the conclusion, is not conducive to fast swimming. The fabric simply feels too thick and cumbersome.
This “internal mesh-lined front panel” is designed for comfort and support, the latter benefit proving to be one of the main sells in current swimwear. If you’re heavy chested then the One Piece would be ideal, but for the lesser-blessed individual it’s just a baggy burden.
Body contouring is also big business in womenswear at present. However, in the swim market, it seems to have been introduced at the expense of performance.
